Lost Roots is a natural wine bar on Iraklidon, the pedestrian street that runs through Thissio toward the Acropolis. Three friends run it, pouring 200-plus labels — Greek and international — with 25 available by the glass at any time. The list leans natural and minimal-intervention; the seasonal food menu is Mediterranean and vegan-friendly.
Lost Roots is on Iraklidon 30, the pedestrian street that cuts through Thissio below the Acropolis. Three friends run it, with a list of two hundred-plus natural and low-intervention wines — Greek and international — of which twenty-five are available by the glass on any given evening. The selection rotates with producers and seasons.
The food menu is Mediterranean, seasonal, and vegan-friendly, designed to run alongside the wine rather than compete with it. The room is small; the pace is unhurried. Iraklidon on a summer evening is as close as Athens gets to a village square without leaving the city — the Acropolis visible at the end of the street, the traffic noise gone, the tables outside until late.

Lost Roots sits at the quieter, residential end of the bar scene in Thissio — a neighbourhood that has its own tempo, slower than Psyrri or Monastiraki, with the hill visible from almost every table outside. Hours: Monday to Friday, 17:00 to 01:00.
