A Michelin-listed boutique hotel at the top of Syngrou Avenue, a short walk from the Acropolis Museum. Thirty-three rooms and four suites in marble and warm timber, with Coco-Mat beds and soundproofed floor-to-ceiling windows against the avenue. The draw is Stork, the rooftop bar and restaurant, where breakfast is served with the Acropolis and Lycabettus in view. Niche Spa is on site.
"Breakfast is served on the eighth floor, with the Acropolis across the rooftops."
Niche sits on the corner of Syngrou Avenue and Vourvachi Street, at the point where the avenue leaves the old city behind — a few minutes on foot from the Acropolis Museum and the southern slope of the Acropolis. The building dates from 2000 and reopened as a four-star boutique hotel after a renovation in 2019; it has since been listed in the Michelin Guide.
Inside, the palette is marble and warm wood: sculptural lighting in the lobby, a vintage marble staircase, thirty-three rooms and four suites. Coco-Mat mattresses, espresso machines in every room, and soundproofed floor-to-ceiling windows that keep Syngrou's traffic on the other side of the glass. Reception runs around the clock.
The reason to book is Stork, the bar and restaurant on the eighth-floor roof. Breakfast is served there every morning, and the view runs from the Acropolis to Lycabettus. In the evening it becomes one of the better rooftop tables on this side of the city. The hotel's own Niche Spa rounds it off.
