Magdalena Aperitivo.

Magdalena opened on Erifilis 1 in Pangrati at the end of May 2026, arriving into a neighbourhood already crowded with places to drink but, until now, without a dedicated aperitivo bar of real intent. The name belongs to no one specific — the founders encountered the idea of "Magdalena" on travels abroad: a warm, approachable female figure who feels like she's talking to everyone in the room. That's the tone the bar tries to hold, and it shows up in the room itself, which looks out over the Pankratio athletic grounds and the trees surrounding it.

The food side is unambiguously Italian, sourced almost entirely from Italy rather than approximated locally — Piave and cave-aged Tuscan pecorino, finocchiona, mortadella, olives, the kind of plate built to slow drinking down rather than soak it up. The philosophy stated plainly behind the bar: drink to enjoy, not to overdo it.

The drinks list runs in four sections. It opens with five lightly sparkling cocktails on tap — Aperol Spritz, a Mediterranean Gin & Tonic, Hugo Spritz, Paloma, and a Sicilian Fizz — quick pours built for a fast first round. The second section is the bar's real centre of gravity: Milano-Torino and its satellites, meaning Negroni, Americano, Negroni Sbagliato, and Garibaldi, the bittersweet core of aperitivo culture done properly rather than as an afterthought.

It works equally well for an early drink before dinner elsewhere or as the full evening itself — the kind of place built to be flexible rather than to dictate how long you stay. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 17:30 to 00:30, closed Mondays.
