Plaka
The Zillers Pastry Bar.
Pastry, eight til late. Plaka.
The pastry-bar wing of The Zillers boutique hotel, two minutes from Mitropoleos. Eclairs and millefeuille in the window, restaurant-level desserts at dinner. Olive green and orange, glass bricks, 1970s funk.
Palaiologou Benizelou 6, Plaka. Two minutes from Mitropoleos Square. The building with the olive-green shutters.
The Zillers Pastry Bar is the street-level arm of The Zillers Boutique Hotel — ten rooms inside an Ernst Ziller mansion on Mitropoleos 54. Same Ziller as the National Theatre and Monument Hotel. The hotel's rooftop carries MICHELIN recognition. Pastry chef Georgios Platinos brought that kitchen's standard to the pavement in 2024.
A Ziller mansion, a Michelin kitchen, and an éclair that makes you question the rest of your day.
The room is a deliberate throwback — olive green and burnt orange, glass bricks, terrazzo, striped glass partitions. The éclair is the thing to order. The croissant is the reason to return. Evenings shift to full plated desserts: restaurant-quality, finished to order, the kind that complete a dinner you had somewhere else.
Open daily, eight until eleven. Walk in for the croissants. Book ahead for the dinner desserts.
