Monastiraki

SYNC Athens.

Morning coffee to late-night cocktails. No break.

Industrial all-day cafe and kitchen on Vissis 25 in Monastiraki, opened April 2026. Double-height ceilings, exposed brick, a mezzanine built for remote workers, and a kitchen that runs from breakfast through late-night drinks without a break. Chef Mimis’s poached eggs with leek jam and metsovone cream became the dish that spread the word.

SYNC opened in April 2026 on Vissis Street, a few steps from the edge of Monastiraki, in a building that reads as a former warehouse: double-height ceilings, exposed iron and brick, a mezzanine running the full length of the space. The ground floor is the main room — a long bar, booths, open kitchen visible from every seat. Upstairs, the mezzanine functions as a working level: softer light, quieter, long tables with power points, the kind of space that fills on weekday afternoons with people who have three hours and a laptop.

The kitchen runs under chef Mimis and operates from early morning to well past midnight without a break in service. Breakfast is a proper meal: poached eggs with leek jam and metsovone cream were the dish that circulated first on social media and remain the order most regulars default to. Lunch and dinner move through dishes that are creative without being fussy, fresh ingredients, balanced flavours. The drinks list covers coffee, cocktails, and wine with equal seriousness across the day.

From morning coffee to late-night cocktails. No break.

What made the opening unusual was the speed at which it was adopted. SYNC had been open only a few days when it began appearing consistently in social feeds and local press. The rating on Google reached 4.9 within weeks. The combination — industrial space with real warmth, a kitchen that performs across all hours, a mezzanine for working — had found a gap central Athens apparently needed.
