Ano Petralona

Taverna Oikonomou

A stewed-food kitchen on the corner of Troon and Kydantidon, where Garoufallia has cooked for twenty-five years: ladera, stuffed cabbage, kokkinisto, stifado. Paintings by Alekos Fasianos where he hung them, olive trees over the pavement tables, and an owner, Filippos Tsangridis, changing as little as possible.

Kolonos

Taverna ton Filon

A grill taverna with its first licence from 1958, empty for a decade until chef Yiannis Mousios and sommelier Giorgos Kontorizos cleared it by hand. The same chairs and paintings, a one-page seasonal menu, and a wine list devoted to the Greek vineyard. Evenings only.
