Colors.

Twenty-nine rooms wearing every colour of Exarchia.

Colors sits on Emmanouil Benaki in the heart of Exarchia, a neighbourhood that has always done things its own way. Since 2011 the hotel has offered 29 rooms dressed in carefully chosen, contrasting colour combinations — from bold Economy doubles to a family room with bunks and a Penthouse Suite. The mood is residential and low-key; the location puts the whole city within reach.

"Rooms designed around colour. Not accent walls — fully committed colour stories, two or three tones chosen to work together."

Colors has been on Emmanouil Benaki since 2011, in the middle of Exarchia — a neighbourhood with a reputation louder than the reality of its quiet residential streets and good local restaurants. The hotel's premise is direct: rooms built around colour. Each of the 29 rooms is given a pairing or trio of contrasting tones, running from walls to textiles to fixtures in a Deco-inflected minimalist idiom.

Room types range from compact Economy doubles to a family room fitted with bunks, up to a Penthouse Suite. The hotel runs with a residential feel — low-touch service, generous breakfast, staff who know the neighbourhood well enough to redirect you from the obvious choices toward the genuinely good ones.

From here the National Archaeological Museum is a short walk. Omonia Square is around the corner. The cafes and bars of Exarchia proper fill in the rest — the neighbourhood has enough of its own gravity to keep you in the area, and enough connections to pull you toward everything else Athens has.
