The Dolli.

A 1925 neoclassical landmark beneath the Parthenon.

A restored 1925 neoclassical building on the edge of Plaka, run as a 46-key hôtel-maison by Grecotel. An art-filled salon below — Cocteau, Calder, Lalanne — and an infinity pool aligned to the Acropolis above.

"Cocteau in the salon. The infinity pool aligned to the Acropolis. The 1925 neoclassical, reborn."

Mitropoleos 49 is the address. Don't bother memorising it — the door is unmarked.

Inside: a Cocteau drawing, a Calder mobile, sculptures by Lalanne, furniture you'd pull off the wall of a gallery if you could. Le Bar Secret in the basement. Forty-six rooms upstairs, all of them quieter than they should be in a city this loud.

The roof is what you came for. A long pool, a tight kitchen, and the Parthenon close enough to feel like a neighbour. Get there before the sun moves.
