Four shows a year, international programme, the best light in the city.
A contemporary art gallery at Leoforos Alexandras 2, co-founded by Romain Bitton and Fred de Schonen. Four shows a year, international and Athenian artists together, open Wednesday to Saturday. The founding logic: Athens has the space, the light and the energy that the rest of Europe can no longer offer.
Leoforos Alexandras 2. Open Wednesday to Saturday, 2–8pm. By appointment otherwise.
Co-founded by Romain Bitton and Fred de Schonen — Bitton came from France, found the light extraordinary, stayed. The programme mixes Athenian and international artists without making a point of either. House Party, the spring 2025 show, brought together Faye Wei Wei, Hugo Avigo and Kostis Velonis in the same space. That mix — nationalities, generations, registers — is the signature.
Four shows a year. International and Athenian artists. The founding premise: Athens still has the light and space the rest of Europe lost.
Four shows a year is a considered pace. Enough to maintain a real programme; unhurried enough to build each one properly.
"It’s the best light in the world here," Bitton says. "It’s a very inspiring city — you live by the sea, the food is good, the people are great." He said this in a magazine and was also living it.
